dressed to impress!

Admire the beautiful handiwork of the amazing Ana Saunders, who has wonderfully created our new altar dressing for Christmas.

Rich in symbolism, the royal blue reflects the majesty and royal of Christ. Similarly, the 5 advent candles are representative of the build up to Christ; standing for the patriarchs, the prophets, John the Baptist, Mary and Jesus himself in the centre.

Traditionally churches use purple (particularly in the UK) or royal blue (in Brazilian and American tradition) in the advent season, colours tightly associated with penitence and the period of Lent. Similar to the Lent period, advent is a season of preparing ourselves to meet with the Lord, a time for introspection and seeking out opportunities to cleanse our hearts before Him. How will you prepare yourself this Christmas season?
