Dear friends,

February is in sight, and with it the promise of … so many things!  We’re not exactly doing Carnival at Christ Church, but with markets, barbecues, a weekend away, a new intern, and a new experiment in bible study, we’ve got quite a month lined up.

You can put it in your diary, every last Saturday of the month is Market day (OK, except for April). Come along this Saturday and relax over a kebab or a curry, pick up some organic okra, and drop by our début Christ Church stall.

Sunday 4 February we’re sharing a Back to School BBQ straight after the 10:45am service in the Cloisters. Bring something to sharesomething to grill or something to drink. Why the plural? Well…

A Weekend Away

Shine Like Stars is less than a month away, and you need to sign up before Carnival at the latest! Steve, Antonio, Tim and I drove up this week to check out the venue and plan our activities.

A New Intern

Lily Sargent arrives in just over a week! She is currently receiving training through CMSand you will get to meet her at the Barbecue on 4 February. Our children’s interns contribute so much to our life as a Church family, and we are looking forward so much to getting to know Lily!

A New Experiment in Bible Study

We’re aware that evenings commitments are difficult for many of you and we want to make the most of the time we are together on Sunday mornings, to get to know each other and discuss how to live for God in this city, guided by his word. So on Sunday 4 February, we want to give you the opportunity to take part in a new experiment: Breakfast and Bible. 10am. In the Hall.

Through it all, we’re not being busy for the sake of being busy. Rather, as Rick Warren says, we want to grow warmer through fellowship, stronger through worship, deeper through discipleship, broader through ministry and larger through evangelism. God has united us as one people through the good news of Jesus: so let’s come to him, together, to enjoy his presence and each other’s friendship.

With love,

Mark and Alex
