hearing from the producers

hearing from the producers

Once again, on Saturday 25 November, we see the return of the enormously popular Markets (Junta Local + Chega Junto) to Christ Church. Let’s hear about one of the producers, Mommy Lateefah! The story of the Nigerian migrant is one of the many cases of women in need of support at this delicate time.

Lateefah, who began selling salgados to support her family, found the interest was so great that she expanded in cooking typical dishes of her country for lunches, fairs and meetings. After an unexpected and enormously difficult pregnancy, the Junta Local + Chega Junto team have been organising some things to help her and other mothers in need (‘Campanha Chá de Bebê da Lateefat’)– taking donations for nappies and baby items to give support and to encourage her, and to ensure she doesn’t feel alone.

Come and support her as well as the other inspirational refugee food producers this Saturday.

Also starting at 10h15 is our Genesis Bible School – all welcome!
