The Comunidade de Basílio (The Community of St Basil) is a community of prayer and worship at Christ Church Rio. The community offers the opportunity to give a year of your life to grow in the areas of prayer, service and learning.

Basil of Caeserea

Saint Basil the Great (330-379) was one of the founders of the christian church. He was an influential theologian, a central figure in the development of the monastic life of prayer and was well known for his care of the poor.

FAQs

  • Brazilians and Internationals between the ages of 18-25. English will be the primary spoken language.

  • The year is from September until June.

  • Non-Brazilians will need a religious visa which we can advise you on. There is no charge but all applicants will have to raise some funds to cover your basic costs.

  • You will join the daily prayer life of the church, prayer nights and Sunday services. There will be opportunities to serve and be trained in ministries as well as a programme of theological and ministry training.
